The year is 2011. 20 years ago a lot of people thought that we would be a lot more advanced in technology than we are. Some thought we would have flying cars, or even time machines. While these mechanisms are still a work in progress, here are three very cool pieces of technology that are worth taking a look at.

-Touch Screen Computers- One of the newest trends in technology seems to be touch screens. First, it came with phones and mp3 devices and now you can also have that touch screen laptop you’ve always dreamed of.

-3D Television- Have you ever watched a 3D movie and wondered what it would be like to watch some of your other favorite shows in 3D? Now it’s possible with the release of 3D television. All you need is the TV and the glasses to enjoy every show in the magic of 3D.

-Motion Sensing Gaming Technology- Gaming has been taken to the next level with motion sensing technology now available. Now you can be more active in your gaming.

So you have gotten to the point where you are tired of asking you’re 8 year old about how to turn on the computer. None of us were born being tech savvy and most of us will never need to know interface perimeters of server structure. How can you go about learning how to use new technology without having to learn the unnecessary?

The best thing to do is to search the internet for information. There are plenty of free online video sites that will offer you a helping hand on using today’s most sophisticated technology. This is a simple approach to an ongoing problem with many of us trying to stay on the cutting edge.

The next approach is to ask a friend or family member to help you. Yes, this can be a little daunting at first but this can be a fun way to spend time together. This can be editing vacation photos together or having them help you use your iPhone. No matter what it is family is always the best way to go if you can’t find other resources.

These are just few of the ways you can learn how to use new technology. The thing to remember is to not get discouraged. No matter what it is you are trying to figure out, you can just stay calm and it will come to you.

In today’s society technology changes every day, with new trends coming and going, everyone wants to keep up with what’s new. Consumers want all the latest gadgets, whether it be software, televisions, cell phones, etc…its to the point that its becoming an obsession and technology companies are always looking for that edge to become the first to offer new innovations for all their products. Let’s face it we live in a technological world where just about anything and everything depends on technology to function. The latest trend in cell phones is the new 4G network and, to me, it seems like it was just yesterday that the 3G network was introduced, yet giving me another reminder of just how quickly technology advances. The newest cell phones even have their own special operating system. For example, I just bought a new cell and the media capabilities are remarkable, it has 4G of memory, over 14 days of standby time, and the amount of storage space it has for storing all of my music files, pictures, and even streaming videos just simply amazes me. I’ll admit I’m a bit of tech junkie myself. I love the fact that on long road trips I can kill some time with my phone by playing video games, taking pictures and listening to music. My only worry is trying to keep up with all the new trends. Yes, I do like technology and I can’t wait for the latest trends.

If you’re thinking that the New Year will be a good time to get started on that fitness regime you’ve been putting off and think you want to tackle it via Wii Fit but have a few questions before you get started, following are some answers to the most common questions. The days when cell phones were used for calling and texting only are long gone, and as a result, they can be a lot more confusing. For a little clarity, we’ve got answers to the top three frequently asked questions for the latest BlackBerry phone; the 9800 Torch.What do I do if my phone is having problems?

Leave the BB powered ON.
Pull the battery
Leave it out for 30 seconds
Replace battery and let device boot

How do I get rid of BlackBerry applications?

Go to Options
Select Advanced Options
Select Applications
4, Highlight the application you want to delete from the device
Press the menu key
Select Delete
The device will ask if you want to reboot. Select YES

How do I personalize my ringtones?

Select the Profiles icon
A box will appear where you can quick select between Loud, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal, Phone Only, and Off. If you wish to quick change the device profiles then select the one you want and exit out.
If you want to edit the tones assigned to the device applications then select the last option, Advanced
Select the profile you wish to edit. (Loud, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal (default), Phone Only, Off)
You will now see a list of all applications that can have a tone assigned (Browser, Calendar, Level 1 Messages, Messages (emaildomain.com), Messenger, MMS, Phone, SMS, Task ect..)
Select the application you wish to edit the tone / notification for
You can now edit Out of Holster and In Holster tones/ notifications.
- Select between: None, Tone, Vibrate, Vibrate Tone
- Select the Tune you wish to use
- Select Volume
- Select Number of Beeps
- Select Repeat Notification
- If set to Vibrate or Vibrate Tone then select Number of Vibrations (options are 1, 2, 3)
